ktravers > The host, Ray, was extremely personable and kind, even when Karin corrupted the visiting cat into sitting on her lap, a habit Ray is understandably trying to discourage. We also take in the sights of fruit bats, fluttering overhead.

ktravers > Dinner in the dining area is also a treat indeed. Here Vlad stands at the entrance.

Inexplicably, however, the restaurant does not have a wine list. Karin must dash up to the bar to survey the rather meager offerings (a few bottles of red, and one of white!). Returning with the white, she finds she has missed a sighting of a manicou, a local opossum.

ktravers > A stage at the Restaurant is set up for performances, with this befeathered and -jeweled carnival costume as a backdrop. We finish off our meal just as Ronald returns for us. Its then back to the Toucan Inn for another delicious sleep.

On to Saturday 14 February: the Scarborough market, and travel to Speyside and the Blue Waters Inn
